Axon Completes Outdoor Exploration Grant Project

In February, Axon awarded a $5,000 grant to Outdoor Explorations, Inc., (OE) a Medford, Massachusetts not-for-profit organization which helps people with all types of disabilities experience the outdoor freedom that others take for granted. OE sought the grant in order to produce an annual report / calendar to provide an update to current funders of OE, make an appeal to current and prospective donors, and function as a calendar to let people know about the events and adventures OE is offering throughout the year.

Axon designer, Lauren Myers, produced the 32-page calendar that features compelling photos and quotes of OE trip participants. In the annual report portion of the calendar, the organization recognizes its volunteers, staff members, and financial supporters. There are also financial statements and pie charts showing where the funding comes from and how it is spent.

Susan Tufts, executive director of Outdoor Explorations, Inc., envisions the annual report and calendar as an important vehicle by which the organization can convey the life-changing effect it has had on the children and adults for whom OE has broken down the barriers to outdoor adventure.

Susan is extremely pleased with the look and feel of the calendar. In a note to Axon she wrote, "I have gone through the calendar draft you sent, I LOVE IT. You have done a fantastic job. You all have been great, and I think the finished product will be so worth it. The pictures came out amazing, I love the layout and the color scheme is classy."
