Kick Off Wine & Cheese Event

Speed Networking is a little like speed dating - only without the pressure (or spousal disapproval). It's a fun way to break the ice and meet new people at a business event. What's the goal? Adding to your network of professional contacts, of course!

Here are the rules.

Make sure you have a slew of business cards handy. We'll provide you with a name tag.

Every two minutes, one of us Axonians will blow a whistle. Or a duck call. Or ring a bell. Or something like that.

That's your cue to sidle up to someone you don't know. Meet - shake hands - and share information about what you do, why you do it, and why the person you're talking to would want to know.

After two minutes, the whistle (or duck call, or whatever) will sound. Swap business cards with your new best friend, and it's on to your next meeting.

After about seven rounds or so, you can get back together with someone of particular interest - or network the old-fashioned way.
