Axon Awards Grant to Caring Unlimited
December 5, 2008Axon recently awarded its latest $5,000 grant to Caring Unlimited, a nonprofit organization located in York County that works with the community to end domestic violence by providing support to safe haven for women, their children, and men whose lives are affected by domestic abuse.

Camp Sunshine's Maine Pumpkin Festival

Axon Design & Marketing recently participated in the Downeast Energy Corporate Carving Cup to support Camp Sunshine. Teams of ten gathered at the Cumberland Fairgrounds and were challenged to carve as many pumpkins as possible in ten minutes. Coming in 2nd, Axon’s “Blood, Sweat, & Fears” team carved 69 pumpkins in 11 minutes, with an added minute donated by Howell Ltd., a photography studio located in the Old Port. The event provided a way to have tons of fun while supporting a great cause. Camp Sunshine is a national retreat for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families located in Casco, Maine.

Axon Hosted NetPM
August 21, 2008TechMaine presents Metro NETpm on the first Thursday of every month, and Axon recently offered to host the event for friends and associates of TechMaine. The event allowed people to meet with friends and network in a relaxed environment. There was a great turn out of familiar and new faces and Axon's specialty drink, The Uploader, was a big hit. Congratulations to Aaron for winning the doorprize!

Axon Completes Outdoor Exploration Grant Project
August 18, 2008In February, Axon awarded a $5,000 grant to Outdoor Explorations, Inc., (OE) a Medford, Massachusetts not-for-profit organization which helps people with all types of disabilities experience the outdoor freedom that others take for granted. OE sought the grant in order to produce an annual report / calendar to provide an update to current funders of OE, make an appeal to current and prospective donors, and function as a calendar to let people know about the events and adventures OE is offering throughout the year.
